A little under five years since it was first released, Red Hat has provided customers with the eighth "minor release" of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5. As well as bug fixes and improved hardware support, RHEL 5.8 also includes new virtualisation and power management features. The H feature "What's new in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8" gives an overview of the changes merged into the eighth update for RHEL 5, which Red Hat will continue to maintain for a further five to eight years.
